Working Remote but still Building Connections

“Building connections while working remotely is hard!’

A friend of mine said this to me because he was finding it hard to build the kind of connections that would help advance his career.

I shared with him how I was still able to build connections by being more intentional about it.

Back when everyone worked in the office, connections grew organically as we had informal chats in the elevator, met at the water cooler or had lunch together.

Today, because many of us work hybrid or remotely, the connections will be built for the most part, when we’re intentional about it.

You could start by identifying the people you need to connect with and making a move by chatting with them, scheduling time, and building rapport.

The way we work may have changed, but this principle for career growth remains the same – build connections!
